Female Athlete of the Month

Kara Brockamp is the Female Athlete of the Month. Kara is a sophomore on the Morrisonville Mohawk softball team. Kara is a catcher and utility infielder. In 15 games so far this year, Kara is batting .263 with a .404 on base percentage. She has driven in 9 runs and scored 8 as well. Kara is just as adept in the field where she has a stellar .966 fielding percentage. With players like Kara, there is are many reasons to be excited about the future of this young Mohawk softball team.

Male Athlete of the Month

Sean Olivio is a senior pitcher and utility player for the Taylorville Tornado baseball team. He is batting .341 on the year with 15 hits and 1 homerun. Sean has scored 11 runs and amassed 12 runs batted in. When he takes the mound, Sean is equally impressive. He has pitched 21 2/3 innings for a 3 win, 1 loss record. Sean has struck out 16 while only walking 6. Sean has an earned run average of 1.29. The team has played 14 games so far. Coach Spiker is proud of Sean’s leadership both on and off the field.
