Station Profile
98.3WRAN is the dream of Shelbyville native Randal J. Miller. Miller graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1973 and from Lake Land College in Mattoon in 1975. Miller owns and operates a group of radio stations in several northern and central Illinois communities, all with one goal: making local radio work for local advertisers
98.3WRAN signed on November 25, 1997, from studios at 1601 West Main on Illinois Route 16 in Shelbyville, and transmitting facilities on the second-highest point in Illinois - Williamsburg Hill, south of Tower Hill, Illinois.
98.3WRAN now operates from a new tower built in November 2001 that increases the station's antennas to 420 feet above average terrain with 3700 watts of power. April 1, 2002, WRAN added a second studio at 918 East Park in Taylorville, in addition to its Shelbyville studios.
