This Saturday, the National Association of Letter Carriers will sponsor the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. To participate, all you have to do is leave your nonperishable food donation by your mailbox and the letter carrier will pick it up.
They can also use some volunteers to help sorting and storing the donated foods, weighing them as they come in and helping the carriers with the donations along their routes.
The postal carriers hope groups will challenge each other to see who can get the most donations.
Locally each year, around 4 tons of food collected and donated to the Taylorville Food Pantry.
