Renner also reported to the board on several other economic development projects she’s working on, including the proposed Tenaska coal gasification project, a proposed wind farm, and the new Rock Solid Produce that is using the former Buckley’s Landscaping greenhouse next to Waste Management to grow herbs being sold to grocery stores thru-out the state.

Renner also reported on the proposed Ameren Illinois Rivers project that will build a new high voltage line thru Central Illinois including Christian County, and the pending sale in June of Dominion Energy’s Kincaid power station to an investment group known as Energy Capital Partners.

Board chair Dick Adams presented Cindy Brown, former secretary to Taylorville mayor Greg Brotherton, with a plaque for her years of service as secretary to the board. Brown recently was named Director of Human Resources for the City of Taylorville, and as a result, will end her service as board secretary.
