Lake Land College was recently honored as one of the Healthiest Companies in America by Interactive Health, a health and wellness agency that works with organizations to develop health risk assessments and solutions. This is the second year the college has been awarded this honor.
The honor is given to companies that achieve outstanding and quantifiable results as part of the Interactive Health outcomes-based health management program.
Through the voluntary program, Lake Land employees receive health assessments, which identify health risks, and work with healthcare professionals to create an individualized health and wellness plan. For 2013, participants in the wellness program at Lake Land saw an 88 percent improvement in blood pressure levels, 75 percent improvement of cholesterol levels, 71 percent improvement in glucose levels and 21 percent decrease in tobacco use.
