The Christian County Solid Waste Management Department and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency are co-sponsoring a household hazardous waste collection day on May 17th. The event will take place at the Christian County Fairgrounds in Taylorville from 8:00am-3:00pm. Items that will be accepted include: oil based paints, paint thinners, old gasoline, mercury, and cleaning products. This collection is for residential waste only and the event is free of charge.
