Taylorville Kiwanis Hears About New TMH Senior Program at Weekly Meeting

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard the director of the new Taylorville Memorial Hospital “Senior Life Solutions” program, as their weekly speaker Tuesday at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.

Registered nurse Amy Graham told Kiwanis members that the new program helps senior citizens cope with depression, sleeping problems, anxiety, anger, or behaviorial issues.

Patients come to group sessions 3 days a week, and can have individual sessions with a therpist as well. Patients can refer themselves to the program, or have family, friends, or their doctor refer them. The outpatient program typically is 45 days in length for an attendee, and is Medicare based for local residents 65 and older.

Taylorville High School Kiwanis Key Club president Nathan Hall, and 2 other members of the club, were in attendance at Tuesday’s Kiwanis Club meeting.

Bob Farris, owner of Bolinda’s Shoe Store, was a Kiwanis guest.

And it was announced that the Kiwanis Club will be involved in the upcoming Manners Park Easter Egg Hunt.

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium. For information on the club, go to
