Schools in the Cowden-Herrick School District received a threat of violence earlier in the week, but after an investigation, the threat has been found to not be credible.
The district sent a letter home to parents Friday afternoon. Cowden-Herrick Superintendent Darrell Gordon says the district worked with local law enforcement in investigating the threat.
Gordon says as superintendent and a grandparent of children in the district, he takes any threat very seriously.
With the shooting Wednesday in Florida, one solution Gordon says he would like to see in his district or nationwide if possible would be putting a resource officer in every school.
