Editorial: Christian County Agricultural Fair Big Success 07/12/2010 This is a station editorial, I'm Randal J. Miller, station president. Well, another Christian County Agricultural Fair is in the books, and despite some curve balls thrown at it by mother nature, it appears that it was a great success.
From the crowning of the 2010 Miss Christian County Fair Alicia Schneider and Little Miss Alaina Deal on Tuesday night, to 4-wheeler racing, the interactive farm, the 4-H and livestock exhibits, the talent show, truck and tractor pulls, and the demo derby rounding out the fair on Sunday night, July eleventh, the Christian County Agricultural Fair was attended by thousands of people not only from Christian County but from across Central Illinois.
We take this time to congratulate and honor, the many people who volunteered their time and effort, to make this year's fair a great success. As we've said before, we want to see the fair survive and thrive into the future. And, due to the hard work of many people in Christian County, those efforts paid off.
The Christian County Agricultural Fair is not just important to those who participate in it. The Fair's spotlight on agriculture, and it importance to our economy, can't be overstated. Agriculture is our largest industry in Christian County, and showing our city neighbors HOW important it is, thru events such as the Christian County Agricultural Fair, remind people that if you eat, then you, too, are involved in agriculture.
That's our opinion, we welcome yours. Our e-mail address is: editorial@randyradio.com.
