ITPA Pulls Come To Christian County Fair Tonight Well if you didn’t get enough adrenaline from the 4-wheeler racing held at the Christian County fair Wednesday night in the grandstands, fear not, this weekend will provide plenty of heart stopping action as the ITPA Truck and Tractor Pulls return to the fair tonight says Christian County fair board president Craig Paulek.
He adds that the county owned stock truck pulls will be held Saturday night.

Talent Show And 4-H Auction Takes Center Stage Thursday Night There was only one place to be and to be seen Thursday night and that was at the Christian County Fair. Of special interest was the Christian County 4-H Auction in the show ring. 4-H Community worker Jodi Heberling said you could bid on a variety of items made, grown or raised by 4-H members.

You’ve heard of the TV show, “America’s Got Talent”? Well Christian County’s got talent too and Christian County Fair Board President Craig Paulek said that one of Thursday night’s winners could be an Illinois state champion.

Take your ear plugs with you tonight, because at the Grandstand it’s the ITPA Truck and Tractor Pulls. Saturday night is the Stock Truck Pull at the Grandstand and the fair wraps up on Sunday night with the Demolition Derby. 4-H Show Wednesday Results About forty youth exhibited around eighty live animals during the Christian County 4-H Fair at the Goats, Sheep, and Swine Shows. Animals were exhibited for breeding and marketability traits. Congratulations to all participants for doing such great jobs. 4-H Horse Show Results 4-H members enrolled in horse projects exhibited at the Christian County Fairgrounds on Monday, July 5th. Members exhibited in classes that included some fun classes like Egg and Spoon, Barrel Racing, and Pole Bending. Although there were only seven exhibitors at the 4-H/FFA Horse Show, it was full of learning opportunities and experience for each member. Besides the fun classes, there were also classes that included showing Halter, Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Trail, and Pattern Riding. Five English Riding classes were also shown. Congratulations go out to all the exhibitors. They all did a great job. Sydney Uphoff and Sarah Campbell were FFA exhibitors and Bryanna Fesser, Zachary Loyd, Lisa Parker, Sarah Paige Tarr, Tommy Tarr, and Sarah Campbell were 4-H exhibitors.
Talent Show On Display Tonight In Christian County Fair Grandstands Local talent will be on display tonight at the Christian County Fair, as the Talent Show takes the Grandstand stage. Fair board President Craig Paulek says the winners have a chance at greater glory early next year:

The Christian County Fair continues through Sunday on the Fairgrounds in Taylorville. The Fair features free parking and free gate admission.
4 - H General Show Results On Monday,July 5, 4-H members and the New Vision Cloverbud members exhibited projects and displays at the 4-H General Show. Many of the exhibits are on display in the Christian County Fair Exposition Building until the afternoon of Thursday, July 8th.
Each exhibitor received individualized conference judging of their projects, allowing for a great learning experience. This show was a success due to the generosity of the volunteers who judged. Thank you to all of the volunteers that help throughout the 4H year.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2010, the 4-H Swine Show will begin at 8:00 a.m. followed by the 4-H Sheep Show and the Goat Show. Also on July 7th, the Master Showmanship contest will be at approximately 1:00 p.m. Farm Bureau will also be sponsoring a “fat bat” and luncheon.
On Thursday, July 8, 2010, the Beef classes begin at 8:30 a.m.. The public is invited to attend any and all of these shows.

Christian County Farm Bureau's 'Interactive Farm' A Hit With Kids Agriculture continues to be the driving force in Christian County’s economy, and this week at the Christian County fair, the Christian County Farm Bureau is once again hosting the ‘Interactive Farm’ at the fairgrounds.
Christian County Farm Bureau Manager Eric Johnson says that the bureau tries to provide as many experiences as possible to show the kids of Christian County real life farm experiences in terms they can understand.

Four-wheeler Racing Hits Christian County Fair Tonight Now that the 87th annual Christian County fair has officially begun, fairgoers can be a part of a new tradition in the fair’s history as 4-wheeler racing will take place in the grandstands tonight.
In years past, local horse and bull riders have participated in the annual rodeo, but this year the Christian County Fair Board decided to try something different with the 4-wheeler racing, giving local drivers a chance to show off their skills says fair board president Craig Paulek.

Paulek explains that while the rodeo was a popular event and it wasn’t an easy choice to cut it from the program, he feels that with the area’s interest in 4-wheeler racing fairgoers will be open to accept it with open arms.

Schneider Crowned 2010 Miss Christian County Tuesday The 87th annual Christian County fair kicked off in royal fashion as the Miss Christian County crown was passed from 2009 queen Amanda Pavlicek to 2010 winner Alicia Schneider.
Alaina Deal was dubbed the 2010 Little Miss Christian County.
Christian County Fair Begins Today In Taylorville The wait is over, the Christian County Fair kicks off today, and there’ll be plenty of action in the grandstands as the fair welcomes back the annual Little Miss and Miss Christian County pageant.
